Hey! Mastiffsrule!!

My first dog Casey passed away at 7 from heart disease, so I know how hard it is to lose a member of the family at a young age. Here he is on his favorite spot on the couch.

PS: He also liked Lotus scallion chicken - well, maybe that's me...

Thanks for everyone, and for sharing you pets.

Been bummed all day but that made me smile. I pictured a dog using chopsticks for lotus chicken

Thanks for reading, my avatar.. pic of our rescue cat, she’s crazy too:)
So sorry man, I had to put our dog of 15 years down this last fall. It breaks your heart and then breaks it some more. I can say our new puppy Willa has been a healing experience for sure [emoji22][emoji22][emoji190]

We lost Edgar to pancreatic cancer. He was proof that my wife and I will do ANYTHING. Learned to do subcutaneous fluids, pricking my fingers and bleeding while multiple vets humored us by giving us the supplies knowing full well he’d be gone soon.

In the end, he did it for us on the way to the vet to do it for him. Gave a short yelp and was gone in an instant.

Doing it for him was the best thing you could have done. The alternative, if they don’t do it for you quickly, is horrible.

Dang it.

Here is Ms. Whiskers. This was her las last with us after 17 years. We were taking her for fluids every day at the vet for month and a half. I could not do the needle myself. She told we she was tired. I could not stay in the room this time. I felt better knowing she had a long happy life and was ready to rest

I can tell you, as a certified vet tech, Unless you went to a really crappy hospital, she was still loved on and made to feel safe even if you weren't there with her. I always tell owners, whether or not you are present depends on you...Regardless, some one is going to hold and snuggle your pet so they feel safe and loved...sometimes it seems even better when an owner is very emotional and the pet is sensitive to that.
