I've been reefing now for around 5 years. Lot's of errors along the way but mostly going well. Lacking space in my home so went with a nano reef. Had no clue that 'the smaller the tank, the harder they are to maintain' was a thing however, I started out with a 9g aio cube.
40cm x 40cm x 40cm Aqua Marin Cube
Standard LED light, 50w heater & 250lph return pump.
Live coal sand
2kg live rock.
After a couple of months of cycling I added a Maroon Clown & a few Zoas
I very quickly got the bug & upgraded every piece of equipment & added some essentials
Swapped out the standard LED for a Red Sea Reef LED50.
Replaced the heater with a D-D Titanium 50w heater & Controller.
Swapped the return pump for a Eheim compact 1000 & added a TMC Reef Flow 4000 & a TMC Reef fill ATO. Also added an auto feeder & a cooling fan
And... Added loads more coral, traded in my Maroon clown (she was EVIL
) for a pair of Percula Clowns. This was probably about a years worth of hard work.
I got to a point where I 'needed' a bigger tank. I managed to find a super cheap Red Sea Max Nano on eBay & started my next build. My Max Nano has now been running for a few years. & I'm very happy with how its running. I'll post a build thread later
