Im curious if there there is a good way to hide and disguise essential equipment that is needed in tanks?
If its hidden too good, does that mean the flow will be interrupted and therefore, not beneficial?
Can equipment be painted to help blend them in with the surrounding area?
Or does the equipment actually need to be clear out in the open for better flow?

I guess Im just too picky, but all the flow vents, tubes and wires showing, doesnt appeal to me at all.
I like a nice clean look, like as if Im actually looking at a reef in the ocean.

One word to solve them all....

Sump

All your equipment goes in the sump in order to clean up the display.

im assuming the sump will also prevent the equipment from getting clogged up from algae or would it need regular cleaning to prevent that?
same with the glass? or would that also need a good scraping from time to time?

I do regular cleaning, especially the glass.

this is not good advice at all! i put two powerheads in my sump and my skimmer and heater and my return and overflow and it just didnt work out all that well.... xD

but i'd put your heater in your sump, powerheads in the display tank
