A fast response from the CS rep:

"Thank you for your input – this is very valuable. We don’t want to compromise anyone’s aquarium, even for a small pin.

I am going to recommend the switch to a higher chromium stainless on this pin asap. The cost difference should only be pennies.

Please advise if I can send you a new pump. Sorry for your difficulty and thank you for your help.

be well!"

Hopefully the higher ups make the change!
How did you get ahold of them? I emailed [email protected] on Tuesday but they have not yet responded to my email.

hey by any chance have any of you used triton detox to remove antimony? Being that it removes other metals?

Some chinese plastics have antimony/lead. I wonder has anyone busted one of these open to see how degraded the plastic was inside near bulb. I find it hard to believe just the impeller could cause those levels. Maybe that's part of why they tell you 6 month lifespan?

My thought exactly.

I know not from taking this gkm apart but another made in china. That it was severely degraded. Never did any icp test. I only ran it for a few days and junked it because of that.
