Thanks! Water top off tomorrow should fix the salinity being high at 40!
It will lower that number, but fluxes like that over the long term will stunt the system from maturing.

ATO the best piece of equipment, but, if you like to fill yourself, sure, you can do that.

I normally top off every weekend manually, but I will definitely look into an ATO setup!

So you manually top off every 7 days?
Sorry, but that’s not going to work.
It’s way way too much flux.
At least once a day,
Or maybe I simply mis understand what you’re saying.
I lose 1.5% of my water through evaporation every day.

In order to maintain salinity, I need to top off 96 times every 24 hours.

I must not understand what your trying to do.

Thank you all! I did just perform an alkalinity test which seems way low, tested at only 3 dKH before the test overdosed. Any products you recommend using to get this up?
did you resolve this? Get a salifert test for Alk. Also, All for Reef is a great additive to cover your basics if you dont dose Kalk etc. Get the powder form as it saves you money.

Amazing tank by the way.

Brother- you HAVE to get an ATO on that tank. It doesnt make sense not to on any tank. Tunze makes a nice one but get a tunze osmolator 3155, not the new new one. You are letting too much water evap, hence a system that is not stable. The last thing a reefer wants is instability. Its incredibly easy, too.

just did 3 different tests in different areas of the tank and salinity is a little high at .4 (my mixing is normally .35-.36) but the tank will be due for top off tomorrow
"Due for top off tomorrow" and that my friend is the problem ideally you should get an auto top off, at worst you should be trying to top this off manually at least once per day.

I’ve heard conflicting stories. But i am admittedly biased because i’ve used the 3155 and its lasted many years.

Thats good that it works well. This is why I like when people leave reviews online after using for awhile.

IMHO, it's too new. The 3155 has been around for a very long time and is the rock you can anchor to with great confidence
I had those same concerns when I was looking for a new ATO pump to replace my Reef Breeders. I went with the new Tunze about 5 months ago. I am happy to report its been flawless on my 125 gallon.

Bought the new model 2 months ago, its worked perfectly and is by all accounts quieter than its predecessor. Besides the warranty gives me great confidence that the company have zero concerns re its production....
