So I tested my phosphate today and it’s 0.63. Last I tested it, was between 0.1 and 0.2. I just feed my fish and do weekly water changes. Nitrates are stable between 8-10. So I only have two theories on what could be causing this.

1) I added a new structure of non-live rock that has a lot of putty involved.

2) I use a lot of KZ products, are any of these known to raise phosphate? I just use the recommended amounts.

Any ideas why phosphate is going up so much but nitrates are stable? Haven’t really noticed downsides to coral but concerned how high it is.

I wouldn’t be concerned if your livestock is happy. Normal husbandry applies.

Random thought, I had my full syphon drain slow down once and it ended up killing off a bunch of sponge or something in my drain pipes and it poured phosphates into my tank. Could be something like that
