I dabble in crypto. One that I have a few bucks in is xrp which got into some legal trouble last year. Early last November, seeing that the asset was going to be frozen I decided to sell and buy into something else. I did a little research on my lunch break, picked a different coin and planned to make the trade when I got home. I got distracted by something else and never got around to it.

Fast forward to today and I see that coin I was going to buy (Shiba) in the news. A little math later and it turns out my investment would have been worth upwards of 700 million dollars. Although I probably would have cashed out well before now for a less crazy amount.

I know hindsight is 20/20 but it still put my gut In a knot.

I've always thought I would make a good rich person, but your probably right. Every now and again I'll buy a lotto ticket and then say a prayer on the way home. I've never gotten a single number one any ticket.

Still it would be nice to have an Olympic size tank to snorkel in.

Are you sure you did not misplace the decimal point. A year ago it was trading at $0.000005 and now about $0.00005. To make $700 million you would have had a $70 million invested to start with. So sure you would have a nice grain but not $700 million.

If you look at last oct-nov it was trading at .00000000001. sinse then it has gone up almost 90,000,000%

WOW! Ouch. I own both. I do believe XRP will eventually be worth holding on to. SHIB maybe. Could have been a millionaire myself if WA state would have allowed me to purchase XRP when I first wanted to.

There were about five more zeros then. Coinbase showed .0000000001 in Dec 2020.
