Can you take a picture with just white lights on in the tank? The blue lighting makes it harder to ID. TIA.

I'm not 100% sure, but based on the pictures I'd say a type of xenia or anthelia.

How aggressive? Rock is supposed to be for my ricordea which I don't want overrun.

Does the coral retract when touched?

Clove or pipe organ coral has a stony tube that the coral retracts into. Usually a reddish color.

Anthelia have longer stalks and do not branch at the base. The polyps tend to also be longer.

Honestly all them might outcompete rics.

I'm 100% sure that is a Xenia. It's not a pipe or clove because you can clearly see the stock bends before the polyp.

It doesn't react to being touched. Base appears to be as flexible as the arms. Base is thick compared to the arms. Like a short fat tree

Intention was to have a ricordea rock I could frag in the future. Can these be moved? does my ricordea need to move?

Xenia

Easy to frag off the rock, xacto it off the rock and use rubber band to attach it to a plug. To make sure got it all, can either seal with super glue or kalk paste where it was.

Awesome. I don't want to kill it. It looks nice I just dont want it to overrun my ricordea. I assume it's like pulsing xenia and needs to be grown on an island to keep from spreading to much?

Is this an uncommon color for xenia?

Make sure you don't leave any little piece of it on the rock. If you do and don't realize, it can quickly grow back and take over the rock. So make sure you don't let it. The biggest problem is if the base of the xenia grows into the holes in the rocks, you won't be able to get it out. So make sure the xenia is taken off properly.

Looks like a batch of common pulsing Xenia to me.I would cut the rock that they are growing on using a wet saw designed for corals.Or you could relocate your Ricordea before they try to take over.

I dont have a saw so either need to abandon the rock and move rics or try to move xenia. The only xenia I see are on rock surface not in holes.

Well pumps were off for water change today. They stood up and pulsed slightly.....
