So I got a new clam and there is a small tube on the side of his shell. It doesnt seem to bother the clam, but he bugs the crap out of me! Whatever it is sends out a "spiderweb" type net and catches stuff in it, then he sucks it back in and cleans it. Im sure this is a good filter feeder type critter, but the "spiderweb" stuff makes my tank look nasty! Does anyone know what it is?

It's a filter feeder. Common name thrown about is spaghetti worm. The web that it throws out can be a nuisance to zoa/paly polyps that are nearby, but it's otherwise harmless.
