I received some rock from KP Aquatics today and was hoping for help identifying a couple of the hitchhikers.

The crabs are smaller than a dime, and the pistol shrimp is about an inch long.

The crab appears to be a Gorilla Crab (not reef safe.) A quick search online says they enjoy snacking on clams, anemones and corals. The pistol shrimp should be perfectly fine to add back into the tank, at your on discretion of course!

I suspected Gorilla crabs, but wasn't positive. I've been researching pistol shrimp, but comments seem to be a mixed bag. Anyone with experience with pistol shrimp from the Caribbean? I read a few times that they do not pair up with gobys

Lol, the pistol shrimp was short lived. I Finally moved him to the DT so my daughter would quit bugging me about it. He darted all the way across the tank right in front of a rock that my Molly Miller Blenny was hanging out on...

No more pistol shrimp.
