I recently added a small sump to my 60 gal mixed reef tank, but because the size of the sump was limited by my very narrow stand, I feared it alone would provide insufficient filtration. So I decided to keep my Fluval C4 HOB. My main reason for adding the sump was to hide my UV sterilizer, which was a huge eyesore in my DT.

I didn't want to add another return to the tank, so I decided to plumb the return into my HOB. I'm rather pleased with how it turned out.

Maybe I’m missing something here but did you drill the tank? Is the filter on?

Do you have a build thread? I'm curious as to how your sump is plumbed!
