Hi All, New here so thank you for reading. I’ve had a 75 gallon setup for almost 2 years. I recently got my hands on a free 190 tank and am very excited to move everything over (when tank is ready of course.) The down side is, the tank was definitely made for fresh water. Thick euro bracing on all sides including tempered panels on the back of the display. All this to say I will have to use a HOB overflow. Now the next issue is that there is a 4.5” wrought iron “frame” that extends from the top of the glass on all sides. I’m assuming it was meant to artistically hide lightening ect.

Every HOB system I have looked at has a 9” inner compartment height which for me would mean even at the lowest water level setting, only the bottom of the box would be submerged. Does anyone know of a way to lower the box into the water more? Some kind of extension where the acrylic screws connect? Would doing this affect the flow rate? TIA for your knowledge/opinions! 🙏

The Eshopps hang on back overflows I believe has adjustable inner compartments with plastic wing nut screws
It does but even adjusting the screws to the lowest possible point still only put the inner compartment about an inch into the water. It needs to be lowered about 4 inches to get the weir into the water
