I bought a holy grail torch from AquaSD. Its green and gold. Only one head. Its 4 now.
I"m not so sure how much I like it now. Its getting big and everything it touches it kills. I had a purple and yellow torch beside it and it killed 4 heads of it. I only have 2 heads of that one now.

Hopefully I won't have that problem

For $100 ,you either got lied to,got sold a regular gold torch, or hit the jackpot lol, you might want to check your vendor and see if it really a holy grail torch , they are pretty rare in the hobby , a single head can go for $500, my lighting isn't ideal but this is what they look like under LED.....

Well I got it from a friend who has high end corals. Not a dealer. The guy has no reason to lie about what it is cause he told me what it was after I bought it like two days later

so it looks exactly like the first photo in the reply. My plan isn't to sell it so who cares about the name my wife likes it and that's all that matters to me if I have a holy grail cool if not I have a torch that looks exactly like ur holy grail for 1/5 of the price so I'm ok with that

That's all that matters?!?! What about preventing war and famine... helping the poor and our fellow man in need? You're saying these things don't matter?!? [emoji4]

Absolutely not. Ive been seeing aussi torches for the last 5 years that put these to shame for 100 dollars a head that dont need a gel filter to look good. Theres a handfull of vendors on the "holy grail torch " imports, and they sell them for rediculous amounts of money for no apparent reason imo lol. Unless your willing to spend the money, you can find them for way cheaper

Hyndui genesis looks like a benz but it's not so you get what you pay for and get what you like. Anemones are same way 1 shade difference in orange + $500 to price

Your 100% right that's why I wasn't worried about spending the money for them, as long as bills were paid and food was on the table it was all good in my books [emoji106]

If you like the coral who cares if it has a name or it doesn't. I'm all about finding corals I like that is about it. I have found allot of corals for cheap that later on some one named.

Happy reefing.

Aussie torches like many of their corals are more expensive to buy/import than other areas/countries...why hobbyists have to pay more from LFS because of higher wholesale/import costs.

I havn't figured out how to take a descent picture of a torch yet. This is a pic of my holy grail from AquaSD. The price was just right. Not too expensive.
I bought 1 head of it several months ago. Its now 4 heads.

There are many "Holy grail" corals like this hammer for instance....

The two torch corals I have are the first and original holy grail torch[/QUOTE]

That's just an orange hammer.
