Hello all..i am interested in build a surface skimmer for my intake, right now i run a durso standpipe with no overflow box, i had an idea to make a hinged overflow box that would close around the pipe to act as a surface skimmer, and using a plasatic bolt and wing nut to tighten it down. Has anyone heard of something like this? is it feasible? as far as cutting the acrylic i was thinking black egg crating siliconed into the box with some netting for a cleaner look...any input?

post a drawing "in a sandwich bag" so i can visualize better what you want to make, sounds interesting.

im not sure what in a sandwich bag means but here is a crude drawing via my skillz in paint,

the x's would mark the plastic bolts with wing nuts, the top would have to be removable and i could silicone a gasket in place to seal around the tube
