Can anyone confirm if it is legal to collect fish while snorkeling/diving for a personal aquarium?

My fiancée and I are looking to take a honeymoon and find somewhere that we can snorkel or dive with the possibility of collecting a specimen, possibly an invert or small fish, to return to our aquarium..

has anyone done this? Where did you go? Did you have to pay for it? Customs issues? Etc

Yes I was hoping to get some ideas based off other experiences if they want to share on the subject.

You would have to make this big plan from the moment when you catch the fish/invert all the way till you get home, You would also have to check local laws to see what you can and if you can’t catch fish/inverts. You’ll just end up spending more money than just going to a LFS and buying the fish/invert

Make sure you take your wife to her dream honeymoon location. She will gladly turn a blind eye when you shell out big bucks for your “honeymoon fish”.
