Hello,

I just wanted to ask other Reefbreeders Photon users if their power supplies also get screaming hot? As in I literally cannot physically hold it for longer than a few seconds hot? Does not seem normal and I am afraid its not gonna hold up at all. I have a feeling of impending doom....

Exact model I use is the Photon V2+ 50

If you can touch it for a few seconds when the lights are on at high power for a prolonged period- I wouldn’t be overly concerned. Most power supplies are designed to operate around 50-55C. That’s about 120-130F. You can always grab an IR thermometer to get a reading on it and confirm it’s within operating temp.
