How bad are these scratches?

How bad are these scratches? Is it safe to use?
I got my EXT 100 Gallon Complete Reef System all set up and ready to go. When I removed the adhesive tape from the back, a small piece was left behind. I tried removing it by hand, but it wouldn’t come off. I used alcohol, warm water, and even my fingernail, but nothing worked.
When I looked closer and touched the scratches, I noticed they seem deep because I can feel them with my fingernail. Is it still safe to use? I don’t really care about the cosmetic scratches since they’re on the back and I can cover them with sand as long as it’s safe to use, of course.

Also, is it okay if a small piece of adhesive tape is left behind?

They just look like cosmetic damage although if you bought this brand new from the supplier maybe contact them and ask? Not sure if something like this falls under a warranty or not.

I agree, those are cosmetic; unsightly, but safe to run. If this is a new tank, I think you deserve a tank that's damage free, but obviously it's up to you if you want to try to pursue a replacement or refund with the manufacturer.

I have a new Tank coming in this month and if it has Scratches, I would be on the phone ASAP. They should at least offer compensation or a replacement.

Which one you getting? I'll email them tomorrow,but at least its in the back so wont see it once i put the sand in.

Perfectly safe, in my experience - those are cosmetic scratches.

But I have a hard time when we, in this hobby, have to spend so, so much to get what we want, and then it's less than perfect on delivery.... I won't even ask who the manufacturer us here....

Clearly, if you're OK, then I'm OK, but know that you have options like asking your credit card company to step in and make it right

You can remove the tape by using a razor blade.

It's up to you whether you want to dispute a claim and get a new tank or not. Those scratches aren't bad, but if this is a new I personally would see if you could get one without any damage. That is just me though

It was so easy when everyone had a LFS and could get a tank that way.....no "surprise" about it, you got exactly what you picked out.

Doing it online you have unwanted surprises.....kinda asking for them.
