How did you find Reef2Reef?

It's kinda crazy the number of people I have talked with that have never heard of R2R before, even though they have a saltwater tank. You would think most people would know who we are!

Many years ago i was on reeffrontiers and when that kindof faded away the only forum i knew of was r.c. I wasnt impressed with the forum management style or the way a lot of members treated people so i never joined and didnt look for another forum for a lot of years. 1 or 2 local reefers had mentioned r2r a couple years ago so i checked it out and liked it right away and joined. I dont do f.b. or any of the other socials so i am so glad r2r is here and doing well. GREAT JOB REV AND OTHERS!!!

I remember reef frontiers

my lfs had mentioned it to me years ago but I was never into social media so to speak, so it took me a while to join. glad I did😀

As a newbie reefer, I frantically Googled one thing after another, each one leading to other questions in geometric growth. I noticed most of the questions I had were already here - along with the best answers. At some point I hit escape velocity and started skipping the Google step altogether.

I was asleep, Woke up, phone in hand, reef2reef open. No idea how I got there. Username auto-filled.

I stared, hit refresh. Just a single notification: “Welcome home.”

I stayed.

Edit-But seriously this is the greatest community ever. I was researching fluconazole treatment and R2R had the best advise with clear guidance. I joined and never left!

lol gotta have some fun!

But seriously I was researching fluconazole treatment for a very stubborn algae and found R2R. Clear clean expert level advise. Once I saw the light I never left. So glad I found this community. You learn something new every day.

googled "saltwater" and there it was. Signed up instantaneously.

The guy called "Dad" got ahold of an online group called "Club Zoa" or something like that. The lady called "mom" was unimpressed at first, but it ended up growing pretty large. But anyway, here I am, a reefing nepo baby?

Im shocked by this also. Im not at the LFS a whole lot but when I'm there oogling things, I always end chatting with a fellow reefer and the majority have not heard of this place. I guess maybe they dont realize there's a ton of info for reefing online. Allot of them have super basic questions that even I know the answer to :) I always send them here also as I know in a week a hour they going to have more questions. Luckily nowadays you can just have them pull up the site on there phone and its locked in for them. Its seems like there is allot of new reefers, at least here. Maybe because we spend 9 months of the year inside lol

Maybe one day R2R can be featured on a billboard like that, haha

I've had a couple of people at my climbing gym ask me for reefing advice, and I always send them here. Some of them even call me the Reef man or Reef guy, because I am the one who knows about reef tanks

Good old Google search for "Saltwater aquarium tips." Or something along those lines when I decided to get back in the hobby again.

Got tired of how dead the Reddit community was and found this place through Google.
