How do deal with hair algae

I have a lot of hair algae, inverts are not a option because of my orange tailed Fiji puffer, snails however I can manage, he leaves them alone, at least margarita snails

I know that ammonia and nitrites are 0, Im out of any other test kits for now lol

Why test ammonia and nitrite on a cycled tank? There is no need. You need to know the nitrate and phosphates, however with lots of algae the tests will likely be inaccurate. Can you post some pictures? Type of filtration, how many fish, how much and how often you feed? Green algae is caused by excess nutrients and docs in the water, and can be exacerbated by low flow and higher temperatures.

How long, I put one in and the last time I saw it was next to the MP40. The next morning found the wetside in the sandbed, think it was chopped but didn’t kill the tank, no body or anything left. Might get another one, if I do might get the foam for the MP40.

mine took about 3 weeks to clear all that i still have him i supplement him with algae now

i would take him to the LFS but the only 1 near me is terrible and some noddy would probs kill him

Had a sea hare in my 125 and never saw algae
I just fed it algae tabs at night when food was scarce

Rock and pink, green or white shortspine Caribbean would be my first choice. Tuxedo and Royal my second. Diadem sp. urchins work well but can be painful to handle or bumb. I would also use steel straws to siphon algae out with water changes. Be patient, don't try to fix it all at once.

I don't have another tank on hand besides a tiny hospital tank

however I could probably keep some snails for awhile, he's not the biggest right now. He doesn't bother my margarita snails

its a 40 breeder with 2 clowns, a tiger goby, a cardinal and a Fiji puffer, however all the fish are currently very small

My son’s 55g looked like yours first pic and in 2 weeks not a spec. At the time I had a 32g and threw him in and in less than a week I had to return him to my son. He supplements with nori and algae wafers. Nothing comes close to a sea hare for quick and complete gha removal.

i feed mine a a4 sheet of nori every night and keeps him fed once in a blue moon he decides he cba to move and takes a night off lol
