How do I Adjust my ATO float valve?

Hi everyone, I attached a picture of the gravity fed auto top off I set up on my sump. For whatever reason it appears that it’s not topping off until the water level is basically at my return pump which is obviously a problem. I feel like there’s an obvious solution of how to adjust the float valve but I can’t figure it out. Some insight would be great, thanks.

Loosen the Phillips head screw on the float and it will pivot up or down. Play with it until you get it just right.
