How do I get this bucket open?

This pull tab is made of very thick plastic and I can’t seem to get it open.

I never had a hard time opening it. You must have gotten a bucket that did not get the tear away part made right.

Pliers, but I do like the samari sword. Please take video if you go down this road :)

A flathead shoved up into the lip working around as you pry should do it. I’ve had some super tough lids over the years and a flathead always works. May distort the lid but it will usually close after. My fingers feel this pain as I have empathy.

As @BryanM mentioned, post video if you go sword route.
