Ok, this may be a dumb question, but with SPS, how do you know if your coral is dead? I am relatively new to the hobby, and have a 28 gallon jbj nano with an aquamaxx HOB-1 skimmer and a reef radiance dm-132E light fixture.

I recently added my first SPS to my tank. Two were Millies, and one was a particular type of acro that I don't remember. The Millie's are just about TOTALLY white now, although one has some shimmer to parts... The other one is brown, but I can still see some green dots when the Actinic is on that leads me to believe it is still alive.

I have a lot of other corals that are thriving, but just not sure about the SPS.

Thanks

Adam

Give it a week or so. Coral with active polyps, even bleached ones, will not have any algae or diatom growth. I would consider passing them along to someone locally with a display proven with SPS and see if they will fight back for them.
