How does this skimmer work?

Just wondering if it has to be plumbed into the tank or what? I want to get it for my nano 20L but I'm not sure how it works. Thanks!

Im guessing it just hangs on the back and is run by the little pump on the side.

Maybe it hangs inside the tank. Like a biocube skimmer

Bummer. I don't want something in the tank. Does anyone know of any good HOB skimmers that don't sit in the tank?

I have a swc Mini hot skimmer. It works great! Only two pipes go in the dt no pump!
