I recently got a blue mandarin from Biota, a great little guy, very healthy, eating well in quarantine right now. I am very pleased.

However, I did not realize just how tiny this guy would be, he can and has fit comfortably on my thumbnail.

So I'm curious just how fast these little guys grow as I move forward planning my stock list. Since I quarantine my fish and he is coming out of quarantine in about a week. I don't think I'm planning on putting anything in the display that would eat him .. but just for bioload estimates.

Thanks!

They grow very fast. Mine went from super tiny to 2”+ and super fat in less than a year. Feeding just the TDO pellets.

Wanted to revive this post instead of posting a new one. I got mine January this year at around 1" and now about 2.5". He doubled in size in around 6 month and has been growing slowly after that. Feeding TDO pellets. He is still fat and healthy. Do they grow slower after around 2.5"?
