I got this coral about 3-4 weeks ago but it has never opened up big like the pictures of torches online. It still looks better than when I first got it, it was fully retracted rather than the little bush on top you see now. Is it sick? What can I do to make it more comfy?

Sorry I dont know my parameters, I last got them tested well over a week ago and I have added rock and done water changes since. 20220813_162713.jpg 20220813_162709.jpg

Torches are very picky about flow. They'll tear with too much flow and they know it, so they won't extend. So if your water parameters are good, my guess is there is too much current there.

Too much light will cause them to retract too. Lower par causes lps to get big and fluffy.

I see diatoms on top of white rocks? Is the tank new?

Torch is finicky coral, not the easiest for a beginner, they do better in established tanks.

If you don't have test kits to test your parameters, then you're working blind, kind of like cooking without a recipe.
