how long did your juvi Chevron Tang get their adult coloration? do you still like your adult Chevron Tang? they are stunning when juvi but I haven't really seen them when they're adult. I think the one I saw at the LFS is a sub adult. not too orange anymore but you can still see a hint of it. the one thing that was good was he's eating anything they put in the tank. he's about 3.4" - 4". what say you?

Thanks.

Thats why I love angel fish (they hold their color). Love tangs too but most loose their color when older, or gain color as an adult but are to big to keep. Lose/Lose IMO.

Orange shoulder or achillies is my favorite...
I like both of those too but am scared to try an Achilles. Orange shoulder. eh? might have trouble with the Yellow tang. juvi is yellow and adult is gonna too big for my tank. might just stick with the Yellow tang.

I was thinking Chevron since it doesn't get too big.

I just lost my achillies...:( not sure what happened besides he was a bully to my others... I have 2 hippos a yellow and my achillies I just lost... Convicts are kinda cool and way under rated IMHO...

What about the Tomini (flame fin) tang? Blue tang? Lavendar tang? All stay within 8" and have good color

Love the convict tangs. Definitely on my list. I have a blue spotted kole that has some nice color to it.

I'm not really sure which one I would add now. I do want another algae eater though. if the transition between sub adult to adult for the Chevron is a few years, I can live with that! do you guys know?
