How long does my torch have left? :(

By stray voltage what do you mean?
Did you use a multimeter? If so what is the reading because it will show some current through the system but that’s just noise and not actually stray current. Have you physically felt a charge with your hand in the tank before? Especially if you had a little cut on your finger?

My PH reads 9.6 with the UV on. When it is off it reads 8.1. If I add a ground probe it has the same effect. It really confuses me. There is no wires in the case of the UV it goes straight to the bulb and the bulb is completely dry. I figured it was some kind of interference from the UV through my controller or from the UV interfering with the signal in the wire. But the ground probe stopping that might not make sense....

I have not used a multimeter. I was about to buy one but I did not understand how to use it exactly. I have not felt any shocks but I don't reach into the aquarium when I have cuts or I wrap them up really well.

I found a black smudge on the quarts sleeve near the top where I believe there would be a waterline/air at the top of the UV case. Concerning but could it just be an algae? It all wiped off easy and I did not see moisture in the sleeve. There was a couple small specs of dust at the bottom of the sleeve no moisture.

There was this spec of salt creep on the actual bulb but does not seem significant to me.
I hadn't opened the UV in about 4 months.

Here are some pictures of them opened up if anyone was curious.
The torch was opened up a lot more earlier. Including the head that is all closed. It looked like the others.

Here is the hammer too. I think the smaller head gets a little too much flow. Should I try to fix that or will it do ok?

Take a video and I can help you determine flow. Take a video and post it to YouTube then post the link here. Fir some reason videos don’t play on these threads.

Here you go, Thank you.

IME its a mixed bag at night, I have a new to me HG torch, and he's happy and flowy, looking like one of those weird troll dolls, but at night sometimes its just 1/2 size, sometimes it puckers up so much I worry.... NExt day its totally fine.

So I'm guessing things are probably okay, or close enough to it that its not in danger.

Initially I thought these were day pics, in which case I'd be very worried.

I was concerned about how little flesh is on the torch. I guess the hammer is just more open at night and that's it.

But In this picture does it look like the skeleton is showing?

Yup a little recession. Keep an eye on it.
Maybe give a light iodine bath. If it starts to look worse.

They all look really happy good stuff! So many frags too!
I wish my torch would open up into a ball like that. It did the first few weeks I had it and I just remembered it was in a different spot too. Maybe I should move it back there?

The flow looks good where you have it. What type of lights did you say you have again?

I have 2 xr15s and a kessil a160we.

6 hour peak at 38% on the xr15s with about 10 hours total light. There is a quick ramp before and after peak.
a160we peaks at 10% and and mimics the xr15s schedule.

Edit: I tuned them to a rented par meter before I got coral but when I added the coral everything looked terrible so I dimmed the kessil a whole bunch and lowered the xr15s some. Then everything started to look better. No idea what the par is now but it should be under 100 on the sand bed and ~130 on the rocks.
I actually ordered a par meter last week from amazon. It arrives sunday.

Mine are both in about 250 par.
Two Kessil tuna blue and two of the stock RedSea led 50s
Run my Kessils at 100 percent intensity 60 color
25% red and 5 % green, about 8” above water. Same height with the Red Sea leds but 100 blue 60% white and 100 uv.
30 min ramp up starts at 0700, ramp down starts at 1500 and ends at 1900.

That is a lot more light.
I'll start tweaking the lighting a few percentage points and increase peak time and keep an eye on the coral.
Sound about right?

I use to cook some corals under metal halides 800+ par…lol
Torches at 400
Here’s a few of my tanks in this video from 9 years ago. Check out my bamboo shark it the one reef. It was a 120. Cooking LPS in that tank under 400 watt radium’s and t5s! lol
Don’t mind the music just mute it.

That shark was really cool! I saw them at my LFS once but they were tiny. I always worry about getting odd critters because I want to make sure they will thrive with me but that shark looked great.
I'll agree with you too, odd music haha
