My female Oscellaris Clownfish has been in my tank for a couple of years. I recently added a Bicolor Angelfish and the Clown took to continually harassing the Angelfish. So, the Clown is now in my sump. I'm guessing that if I leave the Clown in the sump long enough, the Angelfish will get established and the Clown will effectively become the newcomer. Am I right in that assumption? How long should the Clown remain in the sump?

yes, you are correct...
i’d give it anywhere from 1-3 weeks.

it all depends on level of aggression

Wow! Longer than I would have guessed, but if that's what it takes...

So I put the clown in my sump for 2 months AND did a minor aquascape change. The aquascape change did involve moving a Duncan that had hosted the clown fish. Good news...it has worked beautifully! Thanks everyone.
Congrats on getting the clown fish to behave!

Brilliant! Well done....mine over the years gets more and more pugnacious. With my hand and the scraper, I'm going to start bleeding into the tank directly soon. No sump...I'd love to put mine in a jar for a few days and point my finger with an admonishing eye!
