I had a disease take out an entire tank 55 days ago now. The tanks been fallow since November 10. On Nov 1 I had two clownfish die seemingly overnight. No white spots no nothing that I could see. Then a few days later I noticed my pair of mandarin gobies had some white patches all over them, not spots but patches and the one had its mucus coat sloffing off. The worse off one died that night. I then caught the remaining goby and bristle tooth tang (the tang of which was covered in white patches). I then moved the two survivors to a qt tank and treated every 2 days with seachem metroplex. The goby seemed to get its color back and the patches went away but the tang still had some white patches all over. On the last day of treatment, according to the bottle, both fish died overnight. I’m assuming ammonia spike or possibly the aerator popped out of the tank. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures but the tank they were in is still running fallow, I’ve been doing water changes due to it also being a frag tank. The tank is running at 1.025 last time I tested and around 77°. I’m thinking it was brook due to the response of metroplex but I am honestly not too sure. It seemed like the ones I didn’t catch in time died 24-48 hours after the onset of symptoms. Just wondering what to do fallow period wise since it is coming up on week 8 here.
