ICP showed 53µg/L aluminum in my system, which I attribute to MarinePure. I have since removed it, and left a pouch of cupisorb in the sump for a month, for the 4µg/L copper which was also detected. I'm wondering how long to leave the poly-filter in my media basket. Would I be correct in assuming it's going to bind whatever it can within a day or 2? I have enough material for 2 treatments but im also struggling to keep PO4 up, so i dont want to run it longer than necessary. I plan on doing a partial WC, a double dose of trace elements and PO4, and sending a second ICP test afterwards.

I do not know that it does bind aluminum. The manufacturer is clearly making incorrect claims about aluminum turning it red (impossible). So I would not assume it does, but if it does, the time will depend on how much is used, how often it is changed, water flow over it, etc.
