How long till you can put your arm in the reef tank after a new tattoo ?

Hello fellow reefers

as the thread title suggests how long after getting a new tat can you put your arm back in your reef ? luckily it’s only filling the gaps on the sleeve on my left arm so my right arm is still useable but I was just wondering ? I was thinking a week or two.

Until it is completely healed. I asked my sister the same thing (she is a tattooist) and she said to consider the tattoo as an open wound. Getting bacteria in any part would cause a serious infection. After the shiny skin comes off you'll be good to go.

Same rules as going in the pool. Wait until it is completely healed. Depending on your skin, could be 10 days, could be 4 weeks like when I got my ditch done.

It's an open wound until it's healed.
