How long until your CBB learned its meaning in life?

How long until your CBB found its purpose? Which obviously is eating Aiptasia to its fulfillment. ??

So i had an oddball glass nem living in my live rock. I thought it was cool. I was curious if it was an aiptasia. But since it came from florida... most likely a curlyq nem.

Once i added my cbb, he went to work within the hour. All ball anemones, feather dusters, and that one hiding in the rocks went poof within a week.

I'd bring home new zoas and he went right after them as i was placing them in the tank.

Took hom 8 days to accept mysis. He was getting thin, i was panicing.

Hard fish to keep happy, kinda wish I had some glass anemones just to pacify his arrogance and accommodate my efforts of trying to be a good fish keeper.

Do they go for the smaller Aips, or will they eat the large ones, too? I got some big 'uns.

The nem in the rock was 2" in diameter. They work them down to nothing.

I can't seem to find it atm but there's a video on R2R that said small fresh clams you get at the seafood shops will entice them to eat. You freeze them and put one in and they'll naturally go to eat it as it melts in the water.

I had a copperband that was picking off my rocks for about 2 months. He was getting a lil thin and I was worried til I saw this video. I tried it and he took to it like a champ. He eventually switched to mysis but I toss in a clam twice a week as a treat now.

I find them easy to keep happy but I spend a long time training mine while in QT. I'll keep them in for a couple of months if needed. My pair only eat frozen or live worms besides what they find in the tank. I trained mine to eat while I kept them in observation QT. My observation QT was set up with live rock some that had aiptasia and they ate it while in QT. I say they but they were not together. I added them a year apart. Mine are in with 8 tangs and some other fish so they have to be willing to compete for food. They'll play tug a war with the tangs when I toss earth worms in but i can't feed them foods like clams because the bigger tangs will out compete them. Mine come to the glass and beg for food with the tangs. They do give me an evil look if I just toss some pellets in.

Took a couple of weeks, slowly aiptasia began to disappear one by one. I had him eating since day one though.

I know that look, cool your care and dedication has made them such a rewarding fish to have in your reef. I feed a little buffet for all my fish with the pump off. My copperband takes a taste or two, usually spitting some out. After a few minutes, I run to the freezer and bring out his preferred fare. He dominates the defroster feeder. Might try red wigglers, I have a worm composting bin. Also have a copperband feeder from printed reef. Might try attaching that with some frozen mussels and clams. It could be done on my part, I just already have a full plate, speaking of which I missed dinner with my family because I had to clean my return pump, then water a bunch of plants and so on after a work day. But it’s what I do for fun!
