I ran 10/2 for 30a.All of you 25a breaker people. What gauge wire is feeding this circuit?
Won’t just switching the breaker just cause the wire to overheat?Keep meaning to replace 15a breaker with a 20a but since I've gotten a little more efficient my absolute max use is 8a anyway on a 200g with a chiller and not much else on circuit anyway. I have added a second small tank that's probably <2a so maybe I will go ahead and replace the breaker. Both already have newish 20a rated outlets installed.

You can check when you pull the breaker but it’s probably already 12/2c which is the most common in the US. That enough for 20a unless it’s an extremely long run.Correct. The breaker needs to be properly fused for the wire gauge used. Simply upping the breaker on smaller wire will only add to the possibility of melting the wire under load. The breaker won’t trip.
