How many RC (Remote Control) nerds are there here?

I mean if you just want to go 100mph and that's it you can buy a traxxas slash 4x4, gut it and put in a 250 dollar ESC motor combo from castle. New spur and pinion and you will have a 100mph car. Probably need to change shock springs and get some weight in the front end. New body so it doesn't turn into a plane, and yes it will trust me I know from experience. Probably around 750 plus whatever 6s battery or pair of 3s batteries you want to run. If you want a 150 mph car its probably more like 1200 plus batteries.

Get a jet and you can go over 200 mph! Lol
It only requires around $10k and a whole box of toilet paper.

I used to play with the Nitro RCs then everyone when electric. So i stopped, i loved the sound of Nitros and the out door places got harder and harder to find.;Drowning;Spiderman One of the pictures i managed to scrounge up. I had 2 cars, and 4 off road buggies. Expensive hobby, but fun. This was my drifter if i remember correctly judging by the wheels.

I still have four RC planes in storage. I used to fly RC planes but then the group I was with slowly dwindled and after seven years of weekend flying I stopped. I am still an Avid drone flyer as I love photography and drones can get you some images that you just cannot get any other way.

I really want to get a drone for photography, seems like DJI has the market for photography drones?

Pretty much! I have a phantom. They are great. Very easy to use. I’m far from a professional when it comes to photography, but they do a great job for me. I take pictures of projects we do at work with it. Or I get bored on the weekend and take pictures of the power line restoration project after a major storm we had this spring lol. 80mph straight line winds knocked out 37 main transmission poles. Like dominoes. They replaced them with metal poles thankfully. 9 days without power. Generators are a must in this hobby :)

DJI has the widest selection and some of the best Drones Like Mavic Pro 2 and Mavic Air 2 but the Autel Evo 2 might just be better depending on what you want to do. There are so many comparison videos on them that you can really get to know them in detail.

Phantom 3, 4? Then think they even have phantom pro's

I’m still on a 3 pro. It does just fine for me. I flew a friends 4 pro and there really wasn’t much of a difference. It’s a little faster and has some additional features for obstruction avoidance and a follow feature. Neither of which really do much for my intended use.

Im a real estate agent, id want it for taking aerial pics of homes, lots. Sounds like a 3 pro would work for my needs. I was looking at the mavic. I dont need all the fancy drone features, just great pictures.

This is exactly what i want it for, is the camera good enough? Is it possible to upgrade the camera on it?
The 3 pro which is what I have has a 12mp camera that is more than suitable for the job. Most real estate photos are resized to a small resolution anyway. If I were buying today, I would get a Mavic 2 , the main reason is flight duration and convenient size. Doesn’t hurt that it has a higher megapixel camera. Also I tend to buy the best I can and the tech lasts longer before it needs to be replaced. Really, for real estate you can’t go wrong with any of them.

I started out with RC cars in my teens and got into boats shortly after. Had some real fast Nitro hydroplanes.
In my 20's I started Nitro Heli's. Was a lot of fun but I can only afford one expensive hobby ;)

Hello,

When I was little and I’m not very old now so that doesn’t say much. But my brother always has done rc stuff. He was always I think old school, but he had such a neat collection. They were painted exactly like the box except one I think. But he never drove them, they sat like on a display shelf. About a year ago he had to down size and now those sit on a shelf in my home. No idea what they are but he had them as a kid which was mid 80s I think, there are some that I think he and I may build. Anyway, here are some pics and he does helicopter and planes but again down sized now all he does are actual jet engine rc planes. For the record lol I have never driven these either and I don’t know how, and no clue how to fly. They just have good memories from when I was little, when I was always around my oldest brother.

Always wanted to get into drones, but could never effectively fly them, i'd always crash ;Blackeye

I built a DJI Flamewheel quadcopter 6 or 7 years ago when FPV started being a thing. It was fun and really enjoyed but between moving to a house with no open space behind it and FAA was cracking down due to people doing stupid stuff I sold off my gear. I want to get back into again now the drone makers have put limits on their gear and FAA has seemed to have backed off some, plus what is out now right from the box is really good.

I got a 1:10 car, 3 airplanes in flying state, 2 airplanes in various stages of building. A T-rex 450 helo, and a quad to play with.

I fly my Phantom 3 specifically for real estate photos.

I also have a Phantom 3 and while I love it I have barely used it since I got it over 4 years ago! Amazing technology!

Drones are so easy nowadays! Almost impossible to crash. For real!
