I used to fly years ago. Everything from control line as a kid, to helio's as an adult, to indoor ultra light light stunt planes.

When all the old guys died, the club kind of disbanded and we lost our flying privileges on the local field, and pavillion we used to use for indoor. Still have all my old gear, just kind of fell out of the hobby.

I started at age 15 on planes. Then went to 3d helis. Then quads. Always had a car or two. Same thing around where I live I don't have anyone to fly with (Still have a couple planes and helis laying around). Now drag racing and speed run is all the rage around here, so I am back on that lol! Working on a 150mph car ATM.

Used to fly planes a lot while stationed in Okinawa. Back home ran out of time with the youngsters in school and all. Flew a bit here and there. Recently started building a Piper Cub that I had laying around which I'll hang in my office if I finish it :) Also found a P51 I had. Go figure.

I found I had too many hobbies and they are all expensive :) Why is it that all of our hobbies are up there? RC, scuba diving, HPDE, and reef tanks. Had to pick so I sold my car, paused the RC outside of finishing the models, and scuba and reefing are left. No complaints.

Never got into cars or quads although my kids buy those little helicopters that I fly around the house much to their dismay ;)

I have several Nitro RC cars which I haven't touched in about 2 years, since we moved.

lol! Yeah it’s certainly not cheap. I have a piper cub that is the first plane I ever built from a kit standpoint. It’s rough but I’m sure it would fire right up! C09B9E66-27AC-4C78-9A19-D4FFEF9626A9.jpeg

That is all I ever had back in the day was nitro. Now the ease and the power of lipos with brushless motors have me leaving the nitro at home lol.
Those are some nice trucks!

Looks great! I've always liked that plane - no idea way. Wing surface area I guess and it being stable.

My sons Arrma Kraton exploded in my kitchen. Dead short in the ESC with 6s batteries.
It was very exciting.

I also have this 1/5th scale Rovan gas.

Sadly my HPI trucks are now orphaned and no more parts. They have gone from bashers to collectors items.

Yeah lipos go up with a bang. Glad everything is ok looks like you had a fire extinguisher near by. I never did buy anything HPI. From what I understand they are great cars.

I can tell you another Kraton story. Friend of mine smoked his foot with his at full speed. I don’t know if I should say fortunately or unfortunately luckily it just grazed the top of his foot but the aluminum chassis took a large Chung of skin with it. The thing is another few inches over and I’m sure it would have been ankle surgery...

I’ve been into RC most of my life. Cars, monster trucks, planes, helicopters and most recently FPV, though I’ll admit it has been a couple years since I last flew. I do enjoy it though... might have to dig all my stuff back out again sometime soon.

Great video! You have some skill for sure :)

videos also don’t do anything RC any real justice. Those drone passes are super impressive standing on the ground.

I’ve always had remote control cars. A couple different nitro vehicles a foam airplane at one time and now I have a
Drone and a 1/5 scale king motor.
Had a buddy buy an old nitro car from a garage sale for $2. Engine was all locked up. Took the engine completely apart and cleaned all parts. Put it back together and got it fired up and running again. Cheapest remote control car ever!

I have a couple on my parents house if they haven't given them away. Sold all electronic ( servos/controller) before moving to the US and kept the cars with engines. 2hpi racing and a 1serpent. Fun times!

I have a traxxas slash and stampede but haven’t used them in a few years. I’d like to get back into it but i’m too busy nowadays so they just sit in my basement unfortunately.

150mph? you gotta post a pic of this. 1/4 scale? When i use to be in the hobby 25+ yrs ago 1/4 scale stock cars were popular and expensive. Think they basically ran a weedwacker engine, bot sure how they.worked the transmisssion aspect. It may have just been a roller chain to a solid back axel.
