Howdy! So as you can see from my current build thread, my tank is really starting to kick off, and with the introduction of my new AF4 (really cool feeding tool, if maybe a bit overpriced for features out of the box). I'm really curious what everyone feeds, and how much?

Currently in my RSR 650:
2 Clowns
Royal Gramma
Coral Beauty Angel
Purple Firefish
One Spot Fox Face
Yellow Meringue Coris Wrasse
Red Eye Solor Wrasse
Flametail Blenny
Tomini Tang

Coming soon
Blue Hippo
Naso
Powder Blue
Purple
Flame Angel

Before the AF4, I was on a rotating schedule of Mermaids Delight, Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef, SF Bay Frozen Reef Plankton, SF Bay Frozen Brine Shrimp, and LRS Reef Frenzy. Fed one cube from the list at 3x a day at 9-10 am, 2 pm, 6 pm. As well as Red/Green Ocean Nutrition Seaweed (Even though so far, none of the inhabitants are even remotely interested in a Nori clip). With the AF4, since I'm still waiting on my Connect module, I'm essentially feeding a solid blend of all in the morning, and then still rotating a cube/portion of each for the other two meals that the AF4 can't hit on its default 24-hour schedule. Any recommendations to ensure I hit the nutritional needs of everyone? I'm switching from a clip to a "holder" here shortly to see if that makes a difference in feeding nori, since it seems my fox face is terrified of the clip.

My vlamingii was terrified of the printed reef clip, I got a blue eye that is all about it's nori and left some of it hanging out of the holder first and that was success. Now everyone goes to town on it. But I really think it was the blue eye that got it going.

So far, nothing has even been thought about making passes at it. Even the Blue and Purple tang currently in QT are uninterested in the clips. I really enjoy watching fish eat from Nori clips, as it's one of the only true moments of interaction you get with most fish, so maybe it's just my luck that none of the ones I've gotten seem to care.

I feed my tank Reef Nutrition ROE, RN Brine Shrimp, RN Oyster Feast, LRS Reef Frenzy, and TDO Chroma Boost pellets. What I feed the tank depends on my nutrient values. If nitrates are low then I’ll feed reef frenzy more often. But on average I feed the tank at 8am and 5pm, nori at 10am. The TDO pellets are in my autofeeder and that feeds at 9am, 12pm and 3pm.

I only have 2 fish in my tank that eats nori, hippo tang and majestic angel. Dory used to be really scared of the nori clip, and would completely ignore the nori. It took Dory about a few months to get close to the nori clip. Now everytime she sees me move the nori clip she knows she’s about to get fed and starts to attack the clip. Your fox face will get over the fear.

I’m hoping since I’ll have 7 total Nori eaters, one of them might get brave and go for it a little faster. Dory (she’s in QT with the purple and flame) sits right next to the nori clip, but has yet to show interest but at-least one hangs out nearby. Just need her to take that little nibble so the rest get with the program.

Those are some beautiful purples, and a beautiful Powder! What’s your current feeding routine for them?

My auto feeder goes off at 11, 1, and 3. It’s a blend of a bit of everything. Then I feed frozen at 5, 7:30, 9:30, and ROE and TDO chromaboost 10-10:30 shortly before lights out. Frozen I feed LRS (regular and herbivore), Rods (regular and herbivore), PE mysis. I try to do multiple smaller feedings. Nori I’ll add over the weekends 1-2 times but only ones that eat it briefly are my yellow tang and weirdly one of my melanurus wrasse.

Just Spectrum pellets in autofeeders set to 2 small feedings 4 times daily. No effort to feed any corals.

I feed around 12+ cubes a day across 4 systems. 150, 50, 35, and a 15.
I feed every 2 hours so 4 to 5 times daily.
A mixture of frozen cubes, Larrys, and some Hikari pellets.
My tomini tang won't eat nori so I feed seaweed cubes.
My file fish will eat nori from my fingers.

My clowns and chromi love it too. But they kill about half and then I let them put in their work around the tank.

No the opposite. For 105 gallons total water volume I’m dosing 96ml daily of ammonium to keep NO3 between 10-15ppm. 40ish gallons of it are macro fuges so they suck it all up. Feed a lot to keep my Anthias happy and to help with fish aggression.

I don’t really have one. I show up in front of the tank around 3-4 noon. (Tanks in my brother’s garage so this is after work activities with my brother) . I do spectrum pellets. The angle loves them. Then I put in a few spectrum wafers. Within a minutes it’s all gone. Then I take and cut a strip of nori about 1.5” x 10, and add in two nori holders like this and used to every day install selcon on the nori, the don’t even like it without it now haha. They are addicted. Then finish off the evening before lights out at 8:30 with a few more spectrum wafers and pellets.

That powder is the bigger one. Have two hybrids. Such nice fish!
