I know this will vary between tanks and locations, but have you actually calculated how much power a month your tank is consuming? Do you see you waste more power during the winter months versus the summer months?

If I calculate it and tell the wife that may be the end of my hobby lol. But I know I use more in the winter due to the house being kept at 64 so the heater is on constantly. I’m guessing with new LED lights and a DC return pump my electric footprint decreased... she did notice a 40$ bump in the electric this month which I’m currently blaming on it being cold and the house heat always kicking on ha

My Apex Reports that I am using around $40 a month, And that just the devices that are connected to my apex. My Hydras, and Radion's and a 3rd tank are not connected. So i am guessing around 50-60 a month just on the tanks.

I live in Wisconsin, I average 500kwH per month from a 180 which is about 60$ a month. The rest of my house including 3 other smaller aquariums use about 300 kwh total lol.

I’m currently working through my house with a smart plug monitoring energy use of the major appliances (fridge etc). I plan to test my RSR250 so will do that next and let everyone know the results. That will be in about 10-14 days as I am leaving it on each item for 1 week to get a decent average (plus the smart plug I use doesn’t give daily averages, just weekly and longer).

My 70g tank with 100g sump (150 Rubbermaid) with orphek led and kessil h380 on the fuge averages around 500w if combine the day and night right now. IA has pretty low electricity but it’s still $30-40 a month. Just for a 70g tank.
