I have 2 questions for my fellow reef keepers:

1- How much RODI water do you make each day?

2- How long does it take?

I try to make 5 gallons a day. I make 2 1/2 gallons earlier in the day and then another 2 1/2 gallons later in the day.

Each time it takes an hour and 20 minutes, so my rate is 2 hours and 40 minutes to make 5 gallons.

Takes me 40 min to make 5 gallons. I make 20 gallons every Thursday

My unit makes roughly 3 gallons per hour. I just fill up a 32 gallon trashcan and use it as needed. I have 10 tanks each with their own ato.

It wildly depends on setup. I make around 5-8 gallons an hour on a 200gpd @80 psi.

Also you should consider making more at once because rodi is bad at doing small amounts at a time. Same reason you wouldnt want to use it as your ATO. The start stop makes you really need to flush your system a lot for tds creep. If you can make 50gallons or so at a time with one of those barrels. I do 30gal for my ato and then 60 in my mixing station reservoir.

I cheat a bit… I have two 4 gallon accumulator tanks, plus a ~240GPD output system @90PSI…

So, 5 gallons takes <5mins to draw, though it does take ~30 mins once my accumulators are depleted…

I dont make water daily so when I do make water I usually make around 50 gallons at a time and it takes 5 hours or so.

I run two 150gpd RO membranes and DI resin canisters in parallel with a booster pump and make 5gal in ~30 mins.

I make 30 gallons every Wednesday. I made a setup attached to a dolly so I can take it outside and attach it to the hose spicket (nowhere in the house to easily attach). In the summer takes about 32 min to make 5 gallons, and about 45 min in the winter.

I make roughly 40-60g a week. I don't have an exact amount because WCs on some tanks are not on a schedule and get done redomly when I feel it's time. TBH i never really cared about the amount because I make what I need because i need it. If it was 200g needed that's what I would make.
As far as how fast i couldn't say. I use two 32g brutes in the basement with float valves so I don't watch it or time it. I know i can empty both containers one night and by the time I go down the next day they're full.

I don’t make RO water daily.
I fill my AWC container every 5 weeks and my ATO container about every 7 weeks at the moment.

Rates aside, collecting twice a day is going to depete your DI faster than collecting a largeer amount once a week or once a month due to something called salt creep.

Each time you collect and then turn off the water pressure, salts continue to diffuse across the RO membrane. That can easily be seen in units with a TDS monitor after the RO membrane and before the DI. TDS rises the longer you wait, until the salt concentration is the same on both sides. Then when you turn the pressure back on, those salts are driven to the DI and removed.

How much faster that depletion is, I am not sure, but to reduce costs of DI resin (if that is significant in your case), collecting more at a time is better.

I don't make rodi daily, when I fill my ATO up rodi gets made, that's around 20 gallons and it probably takes an hour or two to get the brute full again.
