I blow my rocks off every night before i go to bed and was wondering if this was beneficial or not. Ive heard its good to on occasion but is every night excessive? Should i let the live rock do its job and not blow them off for a few weeks, months...ever?

how big is your tank?? must be pretty small if youre bowing your rocks off every night! seems a bit excessive. i agree, do it with a WC or maybe once a week.

I blow mine out about once a month. Sometimes more if I feel like it, or if I recently disturbed some gunk that may have gotten in.

I've been using a turkey baster daily on my corals to blow off any detritus. Will that damage them? I always find some sand in between my zoas.

I don't at all.

I use a small powerhead around the rock work about once a month, all good so far.

I do that with my corals too. Don't think it hurts them any if you're gentle. I've actually been hearing that zoa colonies NEED to be blown out once in a while to remove trapped debris that will eventually cause them to start dying off if it isn't removed.

Was doing before I did a water change. But i added some bergia nudibrach and don't want to blow them off the rocks lol

I blow mine off every other water change or so.. Or sometimes when im spot feeding my acans just cause the baster is already in the water..

I never did until a accidentally caused a back siphon when doing a water change and it blow all this muck off my rock. Now I do it right before every water change.

Wow every night I do mine about every other month but with my flow and cuc they never get to bad
