Hi

How often do you clean the glass for algea? When I clean my glass, algea start growing again within hours? I have Nitrate on 1ppm and Phosphate on 0.015.

I magnet clean the glass when I begin seeing any form of build up. Typically that’s 1-2 times a week. I’ll also clean the glass if there’s a “snail trail” of gunk just hanging on. I typically only clean the two sides and front side (hoping to have the backside covered with coralline algae)

How often you clean your glass of algae is directly correlated to the intensity of your lights. The brighter your lights (especially the white light), the more you are going to have to clean your glass. Definitely a trade off between light intensity to grow corals and glass cleaning.

I clean mine 3x a week but it's only with the soft side of the magnet cleaner not the scraper. Kind of like a light powder film algae on the glass on 6 month old tank.

1-2 times per week or whenever I notice it getting dirty. I generally always clean it before doing my weekly water change and then sometimes once in the middle of the week if it looks dirty (or if I’m having company and want it to look good).

1x per week. UV sterilizer makes a huge difference I think, which I do use.
