Lots of frags in a small tank become mini-colonies that start crowding each other. It's hard to imagine how much space your corals are going to take up when you're just gluing nubs down on the rocks. Anyone else feeling like they may have overdone it with the corals in their tank?

NOTE: That space in the sand bed above the beach bum monti and below the slimer on the right hand side is not primo real estate. That is a daily sand storm from the pistol shrimp and there's not much I can put there that won't get buried or bothered to death.

I am running out of space and I have frag racks getting full. I have an isolation box with 2 good size 2-3” wide gonipora, shelves getting full, colonies getting larger… and my rockwork only has vertical space not ideal for anything really to be mounted to. I have some sand space but I need that for conch and nassarius to use

Plus. I’m addicted to coral and have no intention to stop buying more

I had a solution but now that is getting maxed out also

So a new plan has been created and is starting soon

Solution #1 stop buying coral.... Which is a stupid horrible idea that makes absolutely no sense
Solution #2 Get a bigger tank.... This is a temporary solution. But effective in the short term.
Solution #3 Start a coral farm.... This solution allows for unlimited acquisitions of coral. It is also the only solution that makes sense.

JoJo I will say you have a great tank, very colorful, always looking healthy. I enjoy your tank and your posts. Props to you!

And this thread made me realize it’s been over 4 years since I’ve done a water change on my tank :)

My tanks are filling up slowly but with more (fairly rare/uncommon) LPS colonies and frags coming into my LFS, I see my nano being stocked fully quite quickly this year.

Tank is full....
me - add a frag rack in the display.
....... 6 racks later... ok this aint working..
Solution
Me - drill three holes in the wall and put tanks in the garage..
........ if its gravity fed i need anotger tank below
Me - builds a whole cabinet to support my obvious addiction to corals

I know right!
I see Achilles tangs in my LFS and I feel like that’s the one tang I absolutely need in a reef.

And here I am… two displays and a quarantine tank and another 100 gallon system that I’m working on to put all the frags that are sitting in my frag racks and now I want a nano for my desk.

There is no judgement here. You are with your people

Good desktop sized pico I love it
