I feel like my frogspawn has reached a point that it cant grow any more heads and my tank doesnt have anymore space so I plan on selling most of this colony. I was wondering what would be the best way to frag all this.Aswell as how many heads per frag if I wish to sell this locally.

Cut below the flesh band, looks like it should be a fairly easy one to frag!

How long did it take to grow this size?
Hard to tell you, when i got this less than 2 years ago it was probably only 6-7 heads but then about a year ago the head dropped and I lost 2 headsand had to frag off 2 others. Though those 2 individual heads that I had to frag off now grew to 6 heads each in one year so im guessing it probably wouldve taken me like 3 years to grow that whole colony out if I started with 1 head.

you should also be able to just use bone cutters. Dremel or saw are cleaner cuts for sure, but bone cutters should work fine. as for how many heads per, i'd follow what is there, if it easy to get a single head then a single; if 2 or 3 heads are two close together (you want space below the white flesh band) then make 2 or 3 head frags. I just go with whatever is easiest and then give them to locals.

Alright, I'll invest in one, also wondering, how many heads should I make 1 frag?
That’ll depend on how you cut it. You’ll want to cut it below the flesh. I drew some lines in red indicating where I would cut myself.

If cutting large pieces bone cutters would probably work but when trying to do smaller frags the chance of the bone cutters shattering the skeleton are significantly higher.

Alright, I might look into a dremel if I ever want to frag my torches as they have much closer skeletons. Will probably just try trading for some more variation in my tank as its mainly the same color frogspawn, hammer, or torch in my tank lol.

I sold mine as a colony, it was much easier than trying to parcel out one polyp at a time.... not to mention that every second reefer is selling frogspawn frags on the online classifieds. You'll be surprised how many people (especially new hobbyists) want the instant colony.

But I think it will grow more, I grew mine for 5 years before I sold it, it had about 50 polyps and was the size of a basketball.
