How to burn $100?

Fill a jerry can with 3.5 gallons of diesel and 1.5 gallons of straight gas. You can burn thousands, maybe millions with that much mix. An alternative would be me setting up one of them fund me accounts so you can send me all that money and avoid the co2 going into the atmosphere. Win win? ;)

But... anyone have any insight on the size/quality of elegance corals from AquaSD? That's one of my bucket list corals for my system, but locally they are $100+ for poor quality, non-aussie specimens.

You guys are good at helping me spend money! I used the gift card trick (thanks for that!!) at AquaSD and got my elegance, a cool RFA and a maxi mini without spending too much extra money.
The dangerous part is it ships out Tuesday, and aquasd is always happy to add to the order..

I recently got my elegance from them. Came looking great and expanded within 1-2 hours of being in my tank.
This is the one i got. Ill post a picture in my tank, not the best picture, but it matches the photo, i cant try and get a better one tomorrow when lights are on. Mine is no smaller then 6 inches when expanded, i'd guess 8 inches.

Awesome. They told me the one I selected was on a 4 in disk, so I suspect it'll start out a little smaller, but that's no problem. I just wanted to make sure that wasn't a 1" frag plug it was sitting on! I'm just really happy to start with an Aussie elegance, as I hear Indo's are rather hard to keep happy and that's all that's locally available (at $85-$150 each).
On a side note, spent another $100ish on yesterday's sale from AquaSD. Once I pay for shipping I feel like I've got to make it worth it, lol! Most of that went to Blue Zone Zoas and a sparkling BTA.
Im surprised its on a disk at all, mine didn't come on one just because how the base is and the usually are meant to be in the sand. Weird.
But they should be good size, the only thing i get from them that are tiny are the more expensive rockflowers. They are like 1 inch a lot of the times i get them LOL
Indos tend to get elegance coral syndrome rather easily and die from that and can pass it to other elegances in your tank including the Australian types who will then also die from it. Indo may look better to some but they aren't worth the risk IMO.
Im happy the shipping here in California is only 20 bucks from them... Makes it hard not to order LOL

Yeah I don't know how they have it on a disk, I'll have to report back when I get it.
RFA's always seem to come small, but in my system it doesn't take long for them to get pretty big. RFA's might be the fastest growing critters in my tank.

Well mixed thoughts about what I got in:
The elegance coral is awesome and adapted very quickly. It's already expanded bigger than it was in the pictures, and my photo doesn't do it justice.
The maxi-mini is exactly as pictured and larger than the last one I got, maybe close to 3 in across.
On the other hand, to say the RFA came in small would be an understatement. It's about the size of my pinky fingernail and was very weak. It took well over an hour (after acclimation) to get it to foot onto some rock rubble before I carefully placed it in the DT. I hope it makes it and grows into the 'nem it looks like in the pic. (For reference the RFA above it is about 1 and a half inches across)

The skeleton of the elegance was glued to a disk (not a frag plug, but a disk) which was noticable when it came in and was retracted. Now that it's extended out I can barely see the disk, and none of the skeleton. I put the disk in the sand,.and it seems to love where I have it. Beautiful animal for sure.
I know you warned me about the RFA being tiny... But holy cow, mine is maybe 1/4 of an inch? Lol

Glad it all came in and acclimated well. I wouldn't worry to much about the RFA, my babies pictured on page 1 where small enough i thought by picking it up i would squish it LOL. But Aqua-SD has done me no wrong so far :)
I love elegance corals, and their prices make me want to have more then 1 LOL.
Next thing i plan to get from them is a trachyphyllia, they have some great choices sometimes at good prices.

Yeah, locally that elegance would cost more than $100, especially being an Aussie. I'll have to look into the trachy's too! Still discovering fun LPS!
They are very colorful easy to care for LPS, and don't really break the bank especially from aqua SD, my LFS wants to much IMO. They are similar to scolymia, but are even bigger then scolymia do to their flesh puffing up like a meat coral. Scolies are 2-5x the price though. I personally prefer Trachies do to their size and price, but Scolies are still one of my favorites, it just when you see the price, youll see why i get driven away LOL . You get more coral for less money with basically the same colors with Trachyphyllia. They way Scolies eat is more interesting though, so pros and cons LOL.

My local store sells softies cheap, but lps has almost tripled in price in the last year there. I'm not much of an sps fan, so I'm exploring lps that I've never seen before.
Ive liked aqua sd alot. Their packing is top notch and 90% of what I've gotten is bigger than advertised. The freebies are amazing too. In this order I got a zoa frag with about 15 polyps. It's not fully open yet, so I don't know exactly what it is, but that's a huge freebie!
