How to capture aggressive fish

This bluechin fairy wrasse hates my blenny he took a chunk out of his scales today and now hes constantly chasing him. I added the wrasse two days ago ive been trying to catch the wrasse with my girlfriend for 2 hours tofay with absolutely no luck. Please if anyone has tips I will appreciate it I dont think I'll get him tonight but he probably needs to go.

He has absolutely no problem with my clowns or bangai. My tank is lightly stocked i must've just got super unlucky most sites have it listed as peaceful.

You can buy commercially available traps, or what I like to do is, prepare a large clear acrylic container like a pasta container, put it in its line of swimming, and corral it in

Im giving it a shot now but the wrasse seems like he knows what's up from all my past attempts maybe tomorrow will be better.

Thanks im so worried idk if i should stay up all night trying to get him or what. I dont want my blenny killed while im at work tomorrow. I'll try to give that a shot late tonight

you dont have to wait til the middle of the night. just give it a try after the lights have been off for awhile and the fish have gone to sleep. or get up before they do. just stun him with a beam of light and bam. scoop him up

Ok of course the dude sleeps under the deepest rock I'll have to take a apart so much im still gonna try this tho thanks for your suggestion.

I've had good luck with a large net and an either a long scraper shaft or another smaller net at the same time. I use the scraper shaft to make the fish I want to catch move to a clear corner at the back of my tank with some rock work while I leave the big net waiting around the corner. Once the fish has moved into that area I keep moving the shaft enough to keep him from wanting to go near it, so his only way out is towards the big net. Once the fish sees the big net just keep slowly positioning it against the glass at an angle next to the rock work so he can't just go over, under or around it. Be patient and let him become less afraid of the net while keeping the scraper shaft moving enough to make the big net look like the safer option and you'll get him. When I do it this way the fish practically swims along the glass right into the net.

I swear I'd pay you to come catch my red coris wrasse. Oh, and you're in cali, but its a big state, any chance you're nearby san jose :)

I used a pasta container! Like I said in the previous comment, just put it in their usual path of swimming and corral them in!

How big is your tank? The "low tide method" works virtually 100% of the time, with any fish. Just sayin'. Lol.

I actually decided to take out the blenny he was in the instigator. I tried the wrasse at first but after watching the tank for a solid hour it was clear the blenny was causing the issue. I just scared him into his rock and lifted the entire thing out of the tank. Hes currently in my 15gal incase anyone is wondering. I had no luck with the pasta method but the wrasse was already wary since I tried to net him for a solid hour so I wasn't shocked.

I'm kinda at my last ditch efforts here, he's holding up an order, thankfully a friend is VERY understanding, but I can't go buy $1300 in new corals just to have this wrasse flipping them.

Have you tried the 2liter method i was do darn close to catching the wrasse with it

I haven't..

I have a NYOS fish trap, but it has successfully caught my blue hippo, not the wrasse.

Now I'm kind of wondering if I did make a somewhat sizable trap, maybe I throw in a lot of my sand and a couple of the corals he likes to flip, if he'd get in that.
