Hi all,

Im currently dealing with a big flatworm infestation and im siphoning them out daily with an airline tube on the glass, and i was planning to do this daily for a week or so to prep for flatworm eXit, until i noticed my sand is covered too, but with very tiny ones.

The problem is that i have quite fine sand...

How do i siphon them out without sucking my sand out ? I can also use my big gravel vac but using this daily cant be good for the sand...

I'm in the same situation, i haven't found a good solution either so I'm gonna follow this.

Have you tried a natural predator like some of the wrasse species? I have flat worms in my 330 but my sixline prevents them from becoming much of a problem.
I have got a pink streaked wrasse, but its omega shy and it always hides when im close to the tank

Havent caught it eating flatworms yet, but its 2 weeks in my tank

I tried a blue velvet nudibranch but my the flow in my tank was too high i think, it was hiding in the rocks and it just disappeared

I've treated a few times in my career and just got as many out as I could.

Can you siphon off the top layer as best you can?

My experience with a pink streak has been similar. I rarely saw it after adding it. My yellow banded is the same. If I want to see it I have to look behind the rock where it spends the entire day.

With the small tube? Ill either clog the tube or get nothing :(
When I did water changes, I was able to vacuum my sand, and it hardly ever clogged the tube. How big is the tube you are using?
