This might have been discussed but I couldn't find anything about it through a common search. This is just what I do and it seems to work rather well for mushrooms and xenias and other slimers. I have two ghost overflows in the back on my 210. Each overflow is about 2 feet wide and 7 inches tall. I put some egg crate at both ends and just glue the snotters to plugs and shove them in the egg crate. In my system at least the water turbulence is so low right there they can't even blow off the plug. Then for some safety measure, I put some mesh screen they can get caught in the off chance they do blow off.

Needle and thin fishing line. Poke the base and wrap it on.
