I am thinking about putting together a manifold to have the option of running reactors, chillers, UV, etc off my return pump.

The problem is that my sump is too small to house the equipment inside the sump or even over it. Instead, I'll need to house the equipment running off this manifold, outside the sump and inside the stand.

If I do this, it seems like I'd get water spilled inside the stand when I decide to change out the media in the reactors or replace tubing, piping, etc. Or is there a right way to plumbing it to avoid such mess? Last ditch effort might be to grab some quick connect fittings (similar to the ones on those Eheim canister filters) to minimize the water spilling out when doing maintenance.

Thoughts?

For reference, the quick connect fittings I was referencing are theses (I've used them on canister filters for planted tanks). You just shut off both valves, unscrew the middle and you might get a few drips of water but other than that you're good. I could add two sets of these on reactors on my manifold (in/out flows) to make it mess free.

Or maybe there's another way that I'm missing...
