Now that my new build is up and running (2 weeks lol), I wanted to share how I mounted my two Radion XR15 pros in my piano hinge canopy. There isn’t a lot of info out there on how to do this, and even fewer with pictures so I wanted to share for the next person.

I purchased two 36” anodized aluminum t-channel from Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/POWERTE...dfe473a4caf4c11a57466fc1969808854e947aaeba726

I ordered stainless steel hex head screws that would fit the lights (M5 .8mm): Fullerkreg 18-8 Stainless Steel Hex Drive Flat Head Screw M5 x 0.8 mm Thread, 20 mm Long,Packs of 50

Stainless steel washers: cSeao 100pcs 10# x 1/2" OD 304 Stainless Steel Flat Washers, 18-8 / A2-70, Plain Finish,

Also some stainless steel wood screws that I got locally.

I cut the t-channel in half then mounted in two rows on both sides of my canopy so I could have space in the middle for removing the lights.

Put a washer on each screw and screwed them into the lights.

Then I just hung the lights from the rail. It worked really well. I can slide the lights around and they’re easy to remove. There’s enough airflow above them for good ventilation too.

I know this is old now but thank you. I’m building a tank now and found this very helpful. Looks really good! Are you happy with these lights?

I have a 5 foot tank that’s 30” deep.

My canopy is much shorter than yours. 9”total height I think.
So lights should be about 6” off the water.

Im trying to decide how many and which lights to get.

3-5 of the xr15 or 2-3 of the xr30.

This has worked very well for me and is quite functional. The lights are great but my tank is only around 18” deep. I might get the bigger lights for a 30” deep tank.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
