Short Question:
Is it possible to run my skimmer with a CO2 scrubber without lowering nitrates?

Full Question:
I’d like to raise the ph in my tank. It runs around 7.7 - 8.0. I tried adding a CO2 scrubber to my skimmer a while back and it did the trick. The problem is my nitrates have been hovering right around 5ppm and I don’t want them to go any lower. My skimmer has been offline for the last couple of months to keep my nitrates from bottoming out. I had an outbreak of dinos the last time that happened and I don’t want to go through that again. Any ideas on raising Ph without lowering nitrates?

Run the skimmer at night? Airline to the outside?
