How to remove bacterial bloom after carbon dosing

The tank doesn’t have coral only fish so i just wanted to bottom out nutrient and then start with nutrient export with refugium and low doses of carbon dosing.
So I dosed a big dose of Vodka and in the next 24 hours a bacterial bloom formed.

My question is what is the best way to get rid of the bacteria bloom from the water column? i can hook on a UV steriliser if needed.

Time. They tend to resolve themselves (bacterial blooms) within a few days. If you’re able to be patient this is the best course of action as the system will balance itself out in the process.

I want to mention it is a quarantine tank and I have a some coral coming in a weeks time. So I just want to eliminate the bacterial bloom not worried about parameter swing as the tank is empty.

Are there other things to remove the bacteria apart from water changes, UV and wet skimming

I don’t recommend a water change as they tend to fuel bacterial blooms rather than help them. If you’re trying to get rid of the bloom quickly UV would be best.

You got your answer with UV sterilizer recommendation.

Why are you carbon dosing? That’s what’s growing your bacteria.

Do you have a protein skimmer?

Severe bacteria blooms will consume oxygen & kill fish.

Use an airstone if you don't have a skimmer on the tank.

Just a quick update: 12 hours ago I couldn’t see the back wall of the tank due to the bacteria in the water column.
I then set up a UV Sterilizer and wet skimmed now 12 hours later the tank is almost as clear as can be. Thanks for the recommendations everyone
